Caravaggio

I think that this piece is interesting because it has less subjects than Caravaggio's other famous pieces but it still demonstrates some of his common themes in his work. The color red stands out against the earth tones in the rest of the painting and this is one common aspect of his work. This piece also uses the light and dark to add contrast and drama to the painting.
