I chose this drawing because I find it unique compared to van Gogh's other chair drawings, most of van Gogh's famous chair drawings have color in them and are drawn from a different angle view. This in particular drawing was created in 1890 with pencil. This simple drawing of a chair is astounding in beauty in the Art community. The four main elements that make this drawing into a visual experience are the simple curved legs, the cushion that looks woven with worn threads, the uniquely designed back rest, and the tilted floor that shows the dimension of the chair. All these elements put together shows how the drawing is simply wonderful, also showing how simple elements can create a beautiful piece of artwork.
