Kathe Kollwitz

This self portrait by Kathe Kollwits, was drawn in 1916. To reflect the increasing weariness during World War 1,taking place in Germany. I chose this pice of art by  Kathe Kollwits because I like the way he shows mixed emotions in the mothers face. She could be showing a smiling and reassuring face towards her child. At the same time this image also catches that she can be thinking of the struggle living during that time period.
